Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Sir Walter Scott followed his family’s tradition and went into law; his heart, however, was with history and literature. He became an instant bestseller with historical narrative poems like “The Lay of the Last Minstrel” and “The Lady of the Lake.” When the popularity of his poetry began to wane, Scott turned to writing historical novels, which were immensely successful. The only thing about this room that is modern is the TV and the internet access. Everything else is outdated which makes the room so much more interesting to learn about, and also exciting to stay in. Not only does the Inn have a 4.9 star ranking on Google, the reviews on this room alone are drawing in lots of positive attention.

One reviewer who stayed in this room said, “My fiance and I stayed here on a last minute shopping getaway. It was wonderful. We stayed in the lady of the lake Scott's suite. The room was spacious with a cozy fireplace next to the bed. The decor was nice throughout the hotel. The breakfast was perfect: eggs, sausage, fruit, and wonderful stuffed french toast. It was the perfect size for a nice start to the morning. Great coffee as well. The inn has plenty of room options and if they are all as nice as ours it is well worth the price. The owners are very nice and not intrusive at all, as some b&b owners tend to be, so don't let that scare you off. Skip the normal days inn or best western and stay here instead. You won't be disappointed.”

This annex is so full of rich history. Behind every door is a room that is modeled in its own time, focused around a historical person or event. Walking into this house is like going back in time.
